This is the section of our site where we include documents relevant to pest problems which may not be caused by bed bugs.

They are all based on cases we have worked on over the last 7 years and may offer some assistance if you are experience a bite like reaction but cant find any signs of bed bug activity.  We are happy to assist you with this types of issue but please understand it is not our core business activity and as such our resources and advice may not be as thorough in these areas.

Other “biting” pests

Bird Mites - biting mites which are associated with current or vacated birds nests.  They are on the edge of human site and are most commonly described as moving “full stops”.  Seek professional experienced assistance with this pest as they are notoriously difficult to deal with.

Carpet Beetles - although they technically speaking do not bite they can induce a “bite like” allergic reaction from the hairs which can be become electro statically attracted and embed in your skin.

Pscocids - again a non biting pest that some people can have reactions to.  They feed exclusively on mould and fungal spores which usually relate to dampness in the infected area

Advanced Bed Bugs Information

Small Bug, Big Problem - Poster presentation from a recent UK GP’s conference Nov 2009 prepared in conjunction with Bed Bugs Limited.

Scales of Infestation - This is our scale of how we grade infestations.  We hope that other pest control companies will adopt this method so that they can better communicate methods of control with the understanding that different levels of infestation require different control strategies.

Over the years we have also developed significant resources for specific industries such as hospitality, medical professionals, landlords and letting agents.  To access these files please send us an email outlining your situation and we will be happy to send your any relevant documents.
